Electoral Literacy Club

The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) promotes electoral awareness among student teachers and prepares them to be informed, responsible, and active citizens. Through interactive activities and hands-on experiences, it fosters understanding of democratic values, rights, and duties, encouraging active participation in the electoral process.

Objectives of the Club :

The objectives of the club shall be

  • To create awareness about the importance of voting and electoral participation.
  • To educate students about the electoral process, democratic institutions, and constitutional values.
  • To instill responsibility and active citizenship among young voters.
  • To encourage ethical voting practices and discourage electoral malpractices.
  • To prepare student teachers as ambassadors of electoral literacy in society.
  • To organize activities that promote voter education in a fun and engaging manner.
  • To strengthen faith in democracy by emphasizing the role of every single vote.

  • Voter Awareness Campaigns
  • Quiz and Debate Competitions on Democracy and Elections
  • Mock Polls and Demonstrations of Voting Machines (EVMs/VVPATs)
  • Poster Making, Slogan Writing, and Essay Competitions on Electoral Themes
  • Street Plays and Skits on Electoral Participation and Social Responsibility
  • Observance of National Voters’ Day (25th January)
  • Workshops/Seminars on Electoral Reforms and Democracy
  • Outreach Programs for community awareness on voting rights
